Welcome to MACA 1040 Illustration Fundamentals

This blog is designed to assist students in grasping basic concepts in perspective drawing and illustration. The course will be divided between exercises in drawing and illustration assignments in which design, shading, and telling a story will be explored.

This blog site is divided into two parts:

Part I.
The first thirteen blog entries cover course exercises in perspective drawing and are numbered for easy reference.

Part II.
The remaining blog posts present course illustration assignments and demonstrations.

This course is focused primarily on black and white rendering with some color. Markers, ink, and watercolor are the media that will be featured. Students will work on sketch paper, marker paper, and illustration board or toned paper. Assignments cover a range of subjects including designing and illustrating a logo using elements of perspective and creating and creating an illustration for a book cover.
